FAQ

What is a permanent bracelet?

A permanent bracelet is a clasp-free chain that is custom-fitted to your wrist and welded closed during your appointment.

There is no clasp, no opening, no way for it to slip off accidentally.

It sits flush on your wrist and moves with you every day through workouts, showers, swims, and sleep.

You wear it until you choose to remove it, and a jeweler can cut it off cleanly whenever you decide.

How does the welding process work?

The process is quick and straightforward. We measure the chain directly on your wrist for a perfect

fit no too tight, no sliding around. Then we use a small pulse-arc welder to fuse the ends of the chain together at one link.

The weld takes a fraction of a second. Most appointments are done in 10 to 20 minutes, including choosing your chain style and metal.

Does it hurt?

No. The weld happens on the chain, not on your skin. The tool never touches you. Most people feel nothing at all some feel a faint warmth near the wrist for a split second. It is one of the gentler jewelry experiences you can have.

What materials do you use for permanent bracelets?

We offer permanent bracelets in three metals: 14k solid yellow gold, 14k solid white gold, 14k solid rose gold, silver and gold filled.

Each has a different look and price point. 14k solid gold is the highest-quality option pure, durable, and the best choice for daily ocean and pool wear.

Silver and Gold filled is made with a solid layer of real gold bonded to a base metal, giving you a genuine gold look and durability at a lower price point.

We do not use gold-plated or stainless steel for our permanent jewelry.

How long does a permanent bracelet last?

A 14k solid gold permanent bracelet will last indefinitely. It does not tarnish, corrode, or degrade.

A gold filled bracelet, worn and cared for properly, typically lasts many years often a decade or more before showing any wear on the finish.

The weld itself is as strong as the chain.

The bracelet does not weaken at the weld point.

Can a permanent bracelet be removed?

Yes.

Despite the name, permanent jewelry is not impossible to remove.

Any jeweler or even yourself with a small pair of scissors can cut the chain at the weld point. It takes seconds.

What makes it permanent is the absence of a clasp, not an inability to remove it.

Most people find they simply never want to take it off.

Will my bracelet tarnish or turn my skin green?

Neither 14k solid gold nor gold filled will tarnish under normal wear.

And no they will not turn your skin green. Green discoloration is caused by copper or low-quality base metals reacting with skin moisture.

Our metals do not do this. 14k gold is hypoallergenic and non-reactive.

Gold filled, because of its thick real-gold surface, also does not cause skin reactions for the vast majority of wearers.

Can I go through airport security with a permanent bracelet?

Yes.

Permanent bracelets are fine jewelry they contain no ferrous metal and will not trigger standard metal detectors. I

f you pass through a full-body scanner, the bracelet may appear on screen, but security staff are familiar with fine jewelry.

You will not be asked to remove it, and it will not cause any delays.

Traveling with permanent jewelry is completely routine.

Can I wear sunscreen with my permanent bracelet?

Yes.

Sunscreen will not damage 14k gold or gold filled. Some chemical sunscreens can temporarily dull the surface of gold filled over time, so rinsing after a full beach day is a good practice. Mineral sunscreens are gentler on all metals.

Either way, your bracelet is not going to be harmed by daily sunscreen use that is not a reason to skip SPF.

Is permanent jewelry safe for sensitive skin?

14k solid gold is one of the most hypoallergenic metals available and is safe for virtually all skin types, including those with nickel sensitivities.

Gold filled is also well-tolerated by most people with sensitive skin because the surface layer is real gold. If you have a known severe metal allergy, 14k solid gold is the safest choice.

We recommend telling us about your skin sensitivities before your appointment so we can guide you to the best option.
